EFIE
Device from Eagle Research, Don’t Bother
Following is an update from John
Vine in Colorado for whom we installed a Hydrogen Boost system last
year. His first report of mileage
is on our test results web page. Here
is a quote from his first report: “Depending on traffic and go/stop areas in city has
gone from 15 MPG to 20 to 22 MPG and highway 22 MPG to 27/28 MPG.“
Now
I have to "fess up" some. The last time we corresponded,
I had asked about an EFIE and after I got your response pretty much gave
up that idea but after a few months, curiosity got the best of me so I
bought a Digital EFIE that was supposed to be a second generation of
Eagle Research.
I
can report to you that it does work, engine runs exceptionally smooth, check engine light stays out as long as you keep
voltage down but at that setting not much mileage gain but some. I
cranked to voltage as high as the device would go ( I think about 700 mA and got better mileage, maybe 7% of from 15 to 19
in town and from 22 to 26 on highway but check engine light is on.
So - it works but not near the gains realized from the way you set up
mine (the 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette) so I have disabled it and back to
our original install.
Here was my response to John
by email: The biggest problem
with the EFIE is that you can only get the fuel ratio up to about 16 or
17 to one, which is when the most NOx emissions
are caused. See my article at http://www.hydrogen-boost.com/August%202006.html
To get clean emissions you must get the fuel
ratio up to at least 18:1.
