Hydrogen Boost
DEAR HYDROGEN-BOOST,
SINCE INSTALLING MY NEW HYDROGEN-BOOST I WANTED
TO WRITE YOU BECAUSE IT HAS REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE
BEEN ABLE TO VERIFY AN INCREASE OF 20 PERCENT IN MY FUEL MILEAGE USING
THE BUILT IN COMPUTER IN MY DASH AND HAVE INCREASED MY TARGET MPG (?)
METER FROM 5 MPG TO 6 MPG SINCE I STARTED USING THE UNIT. MY MPG BEFORE I
INSTALLED THE HYDROGEN-BOOST WAS IN THE 4.9 TO 5.1 RANGE IN A 14 LITER DETROIT THAT IS
OPENED UP FROM THE FACTORY. NOW IT LOOKS TO BE CLEARLY IN THE 6.0 TO 6.5
MPG RANGE AND HOPE TO DO BETTER NOW THAT THE SUMMER IS HEAR.
I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE OIL HAS GOTTEN CLEANER
WHICH I BELIEVE AT THIS TIME IS DUE TO BETTER BURNING OF THE FUEL AND THE
OIL ON THE DIPSTICK IS NOT SHOWING ANY SIGNS OF UNBURNED FUEL IN THE OIL
WHICH IS ANOTHER GOOD SIGN SINCE I INSTALLED THE HYDROGEN-BOOST. THE
INCREASED TORQUE HAS ALLOWED ME TO KEEP IT IN HIGHER GEAR, MAKING IT MUCH
EASIER ON THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE ANOTHER PLUS FOR MY FUEL MILEAGE.
THE HYDROGEN-BOOST HAS BEEN A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE
IN MY LIFE AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR
SUPPORT DURING INSTALLATION.
FRANCIS HOPKINS, INDEPENDENT TRUCKER
Follow-up message from Francis Hopkins:
I
had to update my original testimonial with the recent addition
of the XCEL PLUS permanent engine treatment. Originally I had just
purchased the Hydrogen Boost hydrogen generator and installed it. My
highway mileage went from around 5 mpg to 6 mpg. After I added the
engine, transmission, and differential treatments you sent me, my
dashboard read out of the mpg has gone up again to around 7 mpg, and more
recently it is up around 7.25 mpg. This is primarily pulling a 70,000 to
80,000 pound truck at 70 mph across fairly level terrain. Thank
you Hydrogen Boost - Francis Hopkins.
Another follow-up message:
I
almost forgot about the trip I told you about going from Reading,
Pa. to Oklahoma City, a 1453 mile trip, and
all the mountain climbing encountered with a 72,000 pound truck at 70
mph. I averaged 6.1 mpg. That comes out to around $350.00 per
week in fuel savings for me. Thanks again - Francis Hopkins
Another follow-up conversation:
I
informed Francis Hopkins about our Purdue University
dynamometer test analysis and the possibility of further improved mileage
with the addition of an intake manifold pressure shutoff switch, that would shut off the Hydrogen Generator
during times of idle and low cruise throttle settings. Francis said that he would rather leave
the hydrogen generator turned on during those times even if it hampered
his mileage because he had other benefits than mileage. I asked him to explain and he told me
that during idle the engine does produce particulate matter and idles
rough. With the hydrogen generator
the engine idles much smoother and reduces the soot that clogs his
exhaust filter. The exhaust filter
lasts twice as long as it did before he added Hydrogen Boost and the oil
filter lasts twice as long as well.
Since many tractor trailers idle all night while the driver
sleeps, this is something to consider.
Fran’s comments:
Below are a
couple pictures of Francis Hopkins’ truck with the Hydrogen Boost
installation. Francis did a few modification,
some recommended some not, that only changed the servicing and
maintenance of the unit. Because
he had elevation from the hydrogen generator to the air intake he used a
previous plan of mine for the water trap.
He thought of it without my help.
Please note
that Francis did not use the engine treatment, transmission treatment,
and differential treatments, but is anxious to try then as well. I am sure he will be even more pleased
when he gets the complete system installed.
Francis will be invited to test out
our new welded stainless steel tractor trailer unit as soon as it comes
out of the welding shop. It will
be much more durable on this truck that produces considerable vibration
at idle.

August Update:
Gary Bailey’s Tractor Trailer achieves 50% Mileage Increase
Testimonial by Gary Bailey
by email on 8-30-07
I am Gary Bailey
From Sedgwick Kansas
I
put a Model 40 Hydrogen Boost System on my 1996 Freightliner with a
60 Series Detroit engine. Before
the Hydrogen I got 6 MPGs. I filled my truck up west of St Louis, MO. and
drove to Hagertown,
Maryland where I fill up
again. I added up my miles from my
GPS at 900 miles and I bought 110
Gallons and I have a generator I ran for 2 day that burns 5 gallons
a day. The speed limits for trucks
across IN, IL, & OH are 55 & 60 mph so that helps the fuel
mileage. But I calculated my fuel
mileage at 9 mpg. That looks like
50% improvement to me.
I
checked my fuel mileage going to Salt
Lake City.
Nebraska and Wyoming speed limits are 75 mph and
out across the Mountains my fuel mileage was 6 ½ MPGs. There was another Freightliner truck
going to the same military base that had the same 60 Series Detroit
engine without Hydrogen Boost and he got only 4 MPGs. That looks like over 50% improvement to
me.
HYDROGEN WORK'S

Fran’s Comments: Knowing that speed has a lot to do with
mileage and knowing that a Hydrogen Boost equipped loaded tractor trailer
can get mileage as follows:
5.8 mpg at 75 mph
6.4 mpg at 70 mph
7.9 mpg at 55 mph
So Gary’s improvement from 6
mpg to 9 mpg was partially due to decreased speed and his increase in
mileage due to the Hydrogen Boost system was closer to 20%.
